Ingredients

Hilsha;fresh-2-3 large pieces, mustard paste-5tbsps, turmeric powder-1/4tsp, green chilies; slit-2-3, mustard oil-2-3tbsps, salt to taste. A few green coriander for garnishing.


Cooking Method

Step 1.  In a bowl mix together mustard oil, mustard paste, turmeric powder, green chilly and salt. Mix well.

Step 2.  Marinate the fish pieces with this mixture, keep aside for 30 minutes, then placed in an oven-proof dish, cover with a lid and steam it in a steamer or cook in microwave oven till done. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with rice.


Notes / Special Remarks

A)If you are useing frozen fish then heat little oil in a nonstick pan and fry the fish pieces lightly for a few seconds. Then add the fish pieces and the oil to the marinade. Can add 2-3tbsps coconut paste and 1tsp yogurt to the marinade. B)Can add green chili paste, little fresh cream on step1.
