Packaging & Shipping is free for all purchases above 7,000yen. However, for catering services a shiｐping fee is charged. Please contact order@sumitrarecipes.com. Shipping fee will not be charged in case the order is self collected from us.

All orders are shipped using standard chilled Takyubin in case of sweets delivered in Japan. Shipping is available only within Japan for make to order sweets. International Shipping is not available for make to order sweets. In some cases the package might be hand delivered by www.sumitrarecipes.com staff.

How is the shipping cost calculated?

Shipping costs for orders from sumitrarecipes.com depend upon the method and option you choose. If you choose to group items into as few shipments as possible, you'll be charged for one regular per-shipment fee, as well as a per-item fee for each item in that shipment. If you choose to ship items as soon as they become available, we'll charge you full per-shipment fees for each shipment as well as a per-item fee for each item.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based/size. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full Kilogram.

Can I Cancellation/Change an order?

Our entire make to order sweet products are custom ordered for our valuable customers. As soon as the order is placed, we initiate the sequence of events which ultimately results in you receiving the product of your choice. Since all our products are custom ordered, at the very beginning at this sequence its respective customer become financially obligated to purchase and pay for the ordered product. We at sumitrarecipes.com try to remain the most customer friendly sweet order website on the internet and will attempt to assist you in cancellation of your order, but, unfortunately we are not able to cancel any orders which have been already prepared for shipment or actually shipped by sumitrarecipes.com.

How do I know the Delivery Time?

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping/billing options you choose. Shipping date estimates will appear in the order form. After placing your order, you will see both shipping and delivery date estimates in the order confirmation e-mail and in the order summary in Your Account. In case of delivery in Japan, you can select the date and time as per the terms stated. Certain conditions apply. Make to order sweets are usually shipped within 5 working days.

This is a fascinating, wonderful site. There are tons of information in here, starting from the ground up regarding how to cook this style of cuisine, including showing photos and explaining ingredients that would not be in an American's pantry, generally speaking. My only real complaint is that though the recipes look wonderful, it is very hard to get to the recipe itself. Searches don't click over easily, which can very quickly become a source for frustration. Otherwise it's a treasure trove. :) .
